NEAR TO THOSE WHO HONOUR HIM
PSALM 25:14 (ESV)
"The friendship of the LORD is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant."
There is a nearness with God that belongs to reverence. Psalm 25 says the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him. This does not mean God hides from sincere seekers. It means that those who honour Him are brought into deeper fellowship with Him.
Reverence opens the heart to receive what pride cannot. A casual heart wants God to agree. A reverent heart wants God to lead. A proud heart demands explanation. A humble heart learns to trust.
God's covenant faithfulness is not understood only by information. It is known in relationship. As we walk with Him, obey Him, and bow before His Word, we begin to see His ways more clearly.
This kind of closeness cannot be manufactured by noise or emotion. It grows in the quiet places of surrender: prayer, repentance, obedience, Scripture, and worship when no one is watching.
If God feels distant, ask Him to search your heart. Not every dry season is caused by sin, but every season can become an invitation to draw near with humility.
The Lord is near to those who honour Him. Walk softly before Him, and let reverence deepen your friendship with God.
