YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU ARE WELCOMING

The law of God taught His people to treat the stranger with dignity and love. That matters because welcome is never only about comfort; it reveals whether our hearts have room for people who cannot easily benefit us.

We can easily become selective with kindness. We may welcome those who are familiar, comfortable, or able to return the favour. But Scripture stretches our love beyond convenience.

Jesus often noticed people others overlooked; Mark 10:46-52 shows Him stopping for blind Bartimaeus and asking, "What do you want me to do for you?" when others wanted him quiet. He stopped for the blind, touched the unclean, ate with sinners, and welcomed children. His love was not careless, but it was wonderfully attentive.

Hospitality toward strangers requires wisdom, but it also requires a heart that is not closed by fear or selfishness. Sometimes the Lord places someone in our path not as an interruption, but as an assignment of love.

Ask God to make you attentive. Who needs kindness today? Who needs to be seen? Who might be carrying a burden beneath a quiet face?

You may not know the full story of the person in front of you. But you can honour God by treating them with dignity, compassion, and grace.
