SOW PEACE

Peace is often planted before it is seen. This verse shows that peacemaking may begin with small seeds that do not look powerful at first.

A gentle answer can be a seed. A restrained tongue can be a seed. A humble apology, a prayer for someone difficult, a refusal to gossip, or a choice to believe the best where possible can all sow peace.

But peace must be sown in righteousness. We cannot sow peace by agreeing with sin or hiding truth. God's peace is pure before it is peaceable. The wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits.

This takes grace. Our flesh often wants to sow sharp words and then expect peaceful fruit. But seeds reproduce after their kind. If we sow pride, we should not be surprised by conflict. If we sow humility, God can bring a different harvest.

Ask the Holy Spirit to make you wise in what you plant today. Your words are seeds. Your reactions are seeds. Your prayers are seeds.

Sow peace, and trust God with the harvest.
