NEW EVERY MORNING

Isaiah gives us a prayer for the morning: "Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble." It is a prayer for grace, strength, and rescue before the day has fully unfolded.

This prayer does not deny pain. It brings pain into dependence. God's mercy is not fragile. His arm is strong enough for the morning after a hard night, for weakness that still lingers, and for trouble that has not yet lifted.

Every morning becomes a fresh place to wait on the Lord. Breath comes, and mercy is there. The heart turns again to God, and help is there. The day may not be easy, but His arm is not short.

Some mornings do not feel new. You may wake with the same burden, same unanswered prayer, or same ache. But the faithfulness of God is deeper than what you feel when you open your eyes.

Receive today's mercy for today's need. Do not try to live tomorrow on today's strength. Jesus taught in Matthew 6:32-34, "your heavenly Father knows that you need them all," and "sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

He is faithful. Not just when life is easy, but here, now, this morning.
