SET YOUR HEART ABOVE

Revelation gives us a picture of where history is heading: the dwelling place of God with His people. This is not escapism. It is learning to live on earth with eternity shaping our hearts.

To set your heart above means letting the promised presence of God correct the way you view success, suffering, money, relationships, and time. The future God has promised should shape the way we live now.

Earthly things become heavy when they are all we can see. We can become consumed by comparison, fear, image, and temporary gain. But when our hearts are lifted toward the promised dwelling of God, we begin to see more clearly.

This does not make us careless about daily life. It makes us faithful within it. A heavenly mind can love people better, work honestly, endure suffering, forgive deeply, and give generously because it is not chained to this world.

Ask God to lift your eyes. Let Him loosen the hold of whatever has been occupying too much space in your heart.

Do not live as though earth is your final home. The dwelling place of God will be with His people.
