THE NIGHT IS FAR SPENT

Paul speaks with urgency in Romans 13:11: "It is high time for you to wake from sleep." There are moments when grace sounds like an alarm, not to shame us, but to save us from drifting further.

Spiritual sleep can look normal on the outside. We continue routines, say the right things, and appear fine, while the heart grows dull toward God. The danger is not always rebellion; sometimes it is numbness.

The night is far spent. The day is at hand. That means we cannot live as though obedience can always wait. There are sins to cast off, habits to surrender, and steps of faith to take.

Paul says to put on the armour of light. We do not awaken merely to try harder in the flesh. We awaken to belong openly to Christ, walking in what is true and leaving darkness behind.

Ask the Lord to wake any sleeping place in you. Let conviction lead to repentance, and repentance lead to renewed joy.

Grace is calling. Wake up, cast off the works of darkness, and walk in the light.
