Whoever Comes to Him

Few words are more comforting to a sinner who knows their need than the promise of Jesus in JOHN 6:37 (ESV): "whoever comes to me I will never cast out."

Notice how wide and strong that invitation is. Whoever comes. Not whoever comes with a perfect past. Not whoever comes with impressive strength. Not whoever comes after fixing everything first. The promise belongs to the one who comes to Christ.

Shame often argues against this. It says you have come too many times. Fear says your failure is too deep. Pride says you should wait until you can arrive looking better. But Jesus says the one who comes to Him will not be cast out. The issue is not whether your need is great. The issue is whether you will come.

Coming to Christ is not casual interest. It is trust, surrender, dependence, and receiving Him as the One God has given. He is not a last resort for religious people. He is the Savior for sinners.

MATTHEW 12:21 (ESV) says, "in his name the Gentiles will hope." Hope is found in Him, not in our record, emotion, or ability to repair ourselves.

Do not stand far away rehearsing why you might be rejected. Come. The promise of Christ is clearer than the accusations of shame: whoever comes to Him, He will never cast out.

This promise is not fragile. It has held sinners with worse stories, deeper shame, and longer wandering than we often admit. The mercy of Christ is not surprised by the need that comes to Him. He already knows the whole truth, and still He says come. Let that silence the inner argument. The doorway is not opened by your worthiness; it is opened by His grace. Come to Him with repentance, faith, and empty hands.
