Delivered and Transferred

Salvation is not only forgiveness as a record cleared; it is rescue from one kingdom into another. COLOSSIANS 1:13-14 (ESV) says God "has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son."

That means the believer's identity has changed. Darkness is no longer home. Sin is no longer master. The rule of Christ is not an optional spiritual interest; it is the kingdom into which we have been brought.

This is full of grace. We did not transfer ourselves. God delivered us. But it is also full of conviction. If we have been transferred to the kingdom of the beloved Son, we cannot keep living as though darkness still owns us.

The verse also says that in Christ we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Rescue and forgiveness belong together. God does not merely forgive rebels and leave them enslaved. He brings them under the gracious reign of His Son.

ACTS 26:18 (ESV) speaks of turning people "from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God." That is the shape of gospel rescue.

Live like someone transferred. Do not go back to old chains as though they still have rights over you. You belong to the kingdom of Christ.

This identity must become practical. Darkness will still try to speak with an old familiar voice, but it no longer has rightful authority over the redeemed. When temptation says, "This is who you are," answer with what God has done. Delivered. Transferred. Redeemed. Forgiven. The kingdom of the beloved Son is not merely future hope; it is present allegiance. Walk today under His gracious rule.

That allegiance will touch ordinary choices. What you watch, repeat, desire, tolerate, and return to must now be brought under Christ. Grace has moved you into a new kingdom; do not live as though nothing changed.
