Let Justice Roll Down

God is not pleased with worship that refuses righteousness. AMOS 5:24 (ESV) says, "But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream." The prophet speaks to people who kept religious forms while neglecting what God loved.

This is a strong warning. Singing, gatherings, offerings, and religious language cannot cover a life that resists justice and righteousness. God sees beyond appearance. He is not honoured by devotion that stays in the mouth but never reaches conduct.

Justice and righteousness are not optional decorations. They reflect God's own character. To belong to Him is to care about what He calls right, to refuse oppression, to walk honestly, and to treat people as those made before Him.

ISAIAH 1:17 (ESV) says, "learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression." Scripture does not allow holiness to become private only. True devotion touches how we deal with others.

Let this search your worship. Does your life agree with the songs you sing and the Scriptures you quote? Grace does not produce empty religion. It makes a people who love what God loves. Let justice roll down, not as a performance, but as fruit of a heart surrendered to the Lord.

This is a needed warning for every generation. Religious activity can become a hiding place if the heart refuses obedience. God is not impressed by words that never become righteousness. Let the Spirit bring conviction where worship has become disconnected from daily life. The Lord is worthy of integrity: devotion in the gathering and righteousness in the street, the home, the workplace, and the hidden places.

Justice rolling down begins with hearts that stop separating worship from obedience. It reaches how we speak, pay, forgive, protect, serve, and tell the truth. God wants streams, not occasional drops when it suits us.
