DON’T MISS YOUR MOMENT (PART 1)

ISAIAH 55:6–11 (ESV) **“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.’”

What this shows is that when God speaks, it is never empty and it is never without purpose. His word is not just information, it is direction, it is correction, and it is the thing that brings change when it is received. That means the moment God is speaking into your life is not something small, it is something that carries the potential to shift everything if you respond to it.

This is where the danger comes in, because you can be in a moment where God is speaking and still miss it. Not because He is unclear, but because your thinking is not aligned or your focus is somewhere else. You can hear something, but not truly receive it, and if it is not received, it will not take root.

This is why ISAIAH 55:8–9 (ESV) — “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways…” matters so much, because often what God is saying will not line up with what makes sense to you in the moment. It will challenge how you think, it will go against your natural response, and it will require you to let go of your own understanding.

And this is where pride becomes a problem, because pride holds onto its own way. It hears what God is saying but filters it through its own thinking instead of surrendering to it. It wants to stay in control, it wants things to make sense, and because of that, it can resist the very thing that is meant to bring change.

This is how moments are missed. Not because God is silent, but because something else is louder. Your own thoughts, your own reasoning, or your own resistance can cause you to step past something that was meant to shift your life.

But this is where the invitation still stands, because ISAIAH 55:6 (ESV) — “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near” shows that there is still opportunity. There is still a moment to respond, still a moment to turn, still a moment to align yourself with what God is saying.

The question is not whether God is speaking, it is whether you are willing to listen and respond when He does.

Because the moment you are in right now is not random. It carries weight, it carries purpose, and it carries direction if you are willing to receive it.

So do not let pride, distraction, or your own understanding cause you to miss what God is doing.

Because some of the moments that feel small…

are the very ones that carry the greatest impact.

And when you learn to recognise His voice, let go of your own way, and respond to what He is saying, you begin to move in alignment with His purpose, and what He speaks over your life will not return empty, but will accomplish exactly what He intends to do in you.
