Strong in the Lord

Spiritual strength is not self-confidence with Christian language. EPHESIANS 6:10 (ESV) says, "be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." The strength belongs to Him before it is experienced by us.

Paul then says to put on the whole armour of God. That tells us the Christian life includes real conflict. We are not called to drift. We are called to stand. But we stand in borrowed strength, clothed in what God provides.

This is both humbling and freeing. It humbles us because we are not strong enough in ourselves. It frees us because we do not have to be. The Lord does not send His people into battle empty-handed. He gives truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, the Word, and prayer.

1 JOHN 4:4 (ESV) says, "he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." The believer's confidence is not denial of danger. It is confidence in the greater power of God.

Do not face temptation, fear, deception, or weariness in your own strength. Be strong in the Lord. Put on what He gives. Stand where He places you. His might is enough for the battle.

Standing firm often looks ordinary. It is truth chosen when lies feel easier, prayer continued when feelings are dry, obedience held when pressure rises, and faith kept when the enemy accuses. The armour of God is not decorative language. It is daily provision. Use what God has given, and do not mistake dependence for weakness.

The call is not to admire the armour, but to put it on. A believer who knows truth but leaves it unused will feel exposed. Take up what God supplies today.

His strength is for the battle in front of you.
