Continue in the Faith

The Christian life is not presented as easy, but it is worth enduring. ACTS 14:22 (ESV) says Paul and Barnabas strengthened the souls of the disciples, encouraged them to continue in the faith, and said, "Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God."

That sentence is honest. It does not sell discipleship with false promises. Tribulations will come. But the command is not give up. It is continue in the faith. God strengthens His people to keep going.

Encouragement in Scripture is not always soft. Sometimes it sounds like truth spoken clearly: this road is costly, but Christ is worthy. Hardship does not mean the kingdom is false. Often it confirms that we are walking the narrow road in a broken world.

COLOSSIANS 1:23 (ESV) speaks of continuing in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel. Stability comes from being anchored in Christ, not from trouble disappearing.

If the way feels hard, do not assume you have taken the wrong road. Continue in the faith. Receive strengthening. Let other believers encourage you, and encourage them too. Many tribulations may mark the path, but the kingdom of God is worth every step.

This is the kind of honesty that helps disciples endure. False expectations can make normal hardship feel like abandonment. But Scripture tells us the road includes trouble and then gives us grace to continue. Christ has gone before His people. The kingdom ahead is not uncertain, and the faith once received is worth holding with steady hands.

Continuing in the faith is not glamorous every day. Sometimes it is simply not turning back. Keep walking, keep believing, keep receiving strength. The kingdom is worth endurance.

Christ is worthy of the road.
