THE POWER OF YOUR WORDS

The words we speak reveal far more than we often realise. They are a reflection of what is taking place within our hearts. Our words reveal our values, our priorities, and the things we truly believe. If our hearts are filled with fear, bitterness, doubt, or negativity, those things will eventually be heard in the way we speak. If our hearts are filled with the truth of God's Word, our speech will begin to reflect His character and His truth.

This is why Solomon urges us to be attentive to God's words. He does not simply tell us to hear them, but to keep them within our hearts. God's Word was never intended to remain on the pages of a Bible or become information we occasionally think about. It is meant to dwell within us until it begins changing the way we think, the way we see ourselves, and the way we live each day.

Many people unknowingly imprison themselves by the words they continually speak over their own lives. They remind themselves of every failure, every weakness, and every mistake. They convince themselves they will never change or that God could never use them. Over time those words begin shaping their identity because they have become louder than the truth of God's Word.

The words of Jesus produce something completely different. His words speak forgiveness where there has been guilt, hope where there has been despair, peace where there has been fear, and life where there has been spiritual death. The more we fill our hearts with His truth, the more our own words begin to change. Instead of constantly speaking defeat, we begin speaking with gratitude. Instead of dwelling on our past, we begin remembering His grace. Instead of believing the lies we once accepted, we begin living in the truth that Christ has spoken over us.

This transformation does not happen overnight, but it does happen as we continually return to God's Word. Every time we read it, meditate upon it, and allow it to shape our hearts, we are allowing God to renew our thinking from the inside out. As our hearts are transformed, our words begin reflecting the work that Christ is doing within us.

The question is not simply, "What am I saying?"

The deeper question is, "What has my heart been listening to?"

If we want our words to bring life, our hearts must first be filled with the words of the One who is life.

Keep His Word before your eyes.

Hide it within your heart.

Allow it to shape your thoughts, your values, and your speech.

For when the Word of God fills the heart, it will always be seen in the words that flow from the life of the believer.
