NEVER GIVE UP

None of us plans to fail. We begin with good intentions, make promises we fully expect to keep, and hope we will never stumble along the way. Yet the reality of life is that every believer will experience moments of weakness, disappointment, and failure. The difference is not that some people never fall. The difference is that those who continue walking with God allow Him to lift them up again.

Psalm 37 reminds us that although the righteous may fall, they are “not cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.” What a comforting picture this is. God does not abandon His children when they stumble. He does not leave them lying where they have fallen. Instead, He reaches down, upholds them, and gives them the strength to continue walking with Him.

Moses provides a wonderful example of this truth. Before God called him to lead Israel out of Egypt, Moses tried to accomplish God's purpose in his own strength. EXODUS 2:11–14 (ESV) records how he killed an Egyptian and was forced to flee into the wilderness. From a human perspective, it looked as though Moses had failed and that his usefulness had come to an end.

Yet God was not finished with him.

Years later, at the burning bush, the Lord called Moses back and entrusted him with the very purpose he thought he had lost. His failure had not cancelled God's plan. Instead, God used those years in the wilderness to prepare him for the work that lay ahead.

The same principle is true for us. Failure is never something to celebrate, but it can become a place where God teaches us humility, dependence, and trust. Those who continue to follow Christ do not pretend they have never fallen. They learn from their failures, receive God's grace, and get back up because they know the Lord is still holding their hand.

There may be moments when you feel discouraged because you have stumbled or because things have not worked out as you expected. Do not mistake a setback for the end of your journey. God often does some of His deepest work in the seasons we would rather avoid, preparing us for what He has already prepared ahead.

Do not allow one failure to define your future.

The Lord is still directing your steps.

The Lord is still holding your hand.

Keep trusting Him, keep learning from Him, and keep walking forward, because the God who lifts His people up is faithful to complete the work He has begun in them.
