THE OPPORTUNITY

GALATIANS 6:10 (ESV)

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Opportunity is not always obvious when it appears. It does not always come in clear, structured moments or in ways that feel significant at the time. Often, it shows up in ordinary situations, small decisions, and simple interactions that can easily be overlooked.

GALATIANS 6:10 (ESV) brings attention to that reality by calling for action when opportunity is present. That means opportunity is not just something to recognise, it is something to respond to. It requires awareness, but it also requires willingness.

It is easy to wait for bigger moments, to think that impact comes through something more visible or more defined. But much of what shapes a life and influences others happens in smaller, consistent choices that may not seem important in the moment.

Jesus consistently lived with that awareness. He did not wait for the right setting or the perfect moment to respond. He moved in what was in front of Him, whether it was a conversation, a need, or a person others may have overlooked.

COLOSSIANS 4:5 (ESV) says, “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.”

That points to intentional living, not rushed or pressured, but aware. Recognising that time and opportunity are connected, and that how they are used matters. It is not about doing more, it is about being present and responsive in what is already in front of you.

There will always be reasons to overlook small moments, to assume they do not carry much weight, or to think that something greater will come later. But often, what is done in those smaller opportunities is what builds something lasting over time.

Opportunity is not only found in what feels significant.

It is found in what is right in front of you.

And when it is approached with intention, it begins to shape not only what you do, but who you are becoming.
