STAYING WHERE GOD IS WORKING

PHILIPPIANS 1:6 (ESV)

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

There are times where progress feels slow or unclear, and it can be difficult to recognise what is actually happening beneath the surface. You may not see immediate change, and things may not feel as different as you expected, but that does not mean nothing is happening.

PHILIPPIANS 1:6 (ESV) gives a steady assurance that God does not start something and leave it unfinished. What He begins, He continues, even in moments where it feels quiet or unnoticed. That means growth is not always visible, but it is still taking place.

It is easy to move away too quickly when things do not feel like they are progressing. There can be a temptation to look for something new, something different, or something that feels more immediate. But not all growth is fast, and not all progress is obvious at the time.

Jesus often worked in ways that required patience and trust, not just quick results.

MARK 4:26–27 (ESV) says, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how.”

That shows that growth can be happening even when it is not fully understood. The process continues, even when it is not being closely watched or measured. What matters is staying in the place where that work is taking place.

There can be a desire to rush ahead or to step away when things feel slow, but leaving too early can mean stepping out of what God is still building. Staying where He is working requires trust, especially when there are no clear signs of progress.

This is where patience becomes part of the process. Not passive waiting, but steady trust that what God is doing is still unfolding.

You may not always see the progress as it happens.

But that does not mean the work has stopped.

And staying in that place allows what has been started to continue moving toward what it was always meant to become.
