LORD OF ALL

LUKE 19:10 (ESV)

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus was never meant to simply be part of a person’s life. He is meant to be Lord over it. Many people want Jesus close enough to help when life becomes difficult, but not close enough to truly take control. They want comfort without surrender, blessing without obedience, and salvation without allowing Him to rule every area of the heart.

Yet following Christ was never about giving Him partial access.

It is surrendering everything.

There are people who allow Jesus into certain parts of their lives while keeping other areas hidden from Him. They trust Him with church but not with relationships. They trust Him with prayer but not with their future. They trust Him with Sunday but not with their habits, thoughts, decisions, or private struggles. Yet Jesus does not ask to become Lord over fragments of a person’s life. He calls people to surrender fully to Him.

LUKE 19:10 says, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus came to rescue people not only from sin, but from living separated from the life, peace, purpose, and freedom found in Him. A person cannot truly walk in the fullness of what God has for them while still trying to remain in control of everything themselves.

Many believers struggle because they are constantly trying to balance surrender with control. They want God’s direction while still choosing their own path. They want peace while refusing to fully trust Him. But real freedom begins when people stop fighting for control and begin trusting the Lordship of Jesus completely.

The truth is that Jesus is either Lord of all or He slowly becomes treated as Lord of none. The heart will always place something on the throne. For some it becomes money, relationships, addiction, fear, success, comfort, approval, or worldly ambition. Whatever controls the heart eventually controls the direction of life.

That is why surrender matters so deeply.

When Christ truly becomes Lord, priorities begin changing. Desires begin changing. The things of this world slowly lose their grip because the heart starts aligning itself with the will of God. This does not happen through empty religion or forced perfection. It happens through relationship with Jesus and daily surrender to His leadership.

God has also placed gifts, purpose, and calling within every believer. Many people spend years comparing themselves to others while never fully asking God what He created them for personally. Yet the Lord never intended believers to simply survive spiritually. He calls them to live for His kingdom and use what He has given them for His glory.

Jesus says in MATTHEW 7:7 (ESV), “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” God invites His people to seek Him personally, to pursue His will, and to walk closely with Him. The more believers seek God sincerely, the more He shapes their hearts, directs their steps, and reveals the path He has prepared for them.

Following Jesus does not mean life suddenly becomes easy. There will still be stretching seasons, uncertainty, sacrifice, and moments where surrender feels costly. Yet there is peace in knowing the One leading your life sees the full picture while we only see small pieces at a time.

Many people are exhausted because they are carrying responsibilities, fears, and pressures they were never meant to carry without God. They want peace while resisting surrender. But peace is not found in controlling everything. Peace is found in trusting the Lordship of Christ.

So stop giving Jesus partial control while keeping parts of your heart closed off from Him.

Give Him everything.

Your future.

Your fears.

Your struggles.

Your gifts.

Your calling.

Your whole life.

Because Jesus did not go to the cross to become a small part of your story. He came to redeem, lead, transform, and become Lord over every part of it. And when Christ truly takes His rightful place within a person’s life, the heart begins finding the peace, direction, freedom, and purpose that can only be found in fully surrendering to Him
