WHEN YOU FEEL WEAK

May 16, 2026

ISAIAH 40:29 (ESV)

“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.”

There are moments where strength feels low, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. Things that would normally feel manageable can begin to feel heavier, and even simple steps can require more effort than usual. It can be difficult to explain, but the weight is real.

ISAIAH 40:29 (ESV) speaks directly into that place by showing that weakness is not something God overlooks. He does not ignore it or expect you to push through it alone. He meets it with provision, giving strength where it is lacking and increasing what feels like it is running out.

It is easy to feel like weakness is something to hide or overcome quickly, as if it reflects something lacking. But Scripture presents it differently. Weakness becomes the place where reliance shifts, where dependence on self is replaced with dependence on God.

Jesus never turned away from people in their weakest moments. He moved toward them, not after they had recovered, but while they were still in need.

MATTHEW 11:28–29 (ESV) says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

That invitation is not for when everything is put together. It is for when things feel heavy and strength feels limited. It is a call to come as you are, not as you think you should be.

There will be times where you feel like you should be further along, stronger, or more able to handle what is in front of you. But those expectations can add pressure rather than relieve it.

God does not meet you at the level you think you should be.

He meets you where you are.

And from that place, He begins to strengthen what feels weak and restore what feels worn down in a way that allows you to continue forward with a steadiness that does not come from yourself alone.
